2014 in Review

Dear 2014,
Thank you for the building blocks you presented to us - blocks of drones and blocks of babies, blocks that caused hurtles and blocks that bloomed.  I must say, I am both thankful for your stay and glad to see you go.  2014, you were hard work but you delivered. And at the end of the day, you were the year that brought us sweet Avalon so you will go in the books as prosperous.  On your way out, put in a good word for us to this new mister 2015.

Thanks,
Megan

Avalon's first Christmas

let's just say that these pictures are through her eyes... since I failed to take any pictures of her (oops!).

Just to at least prove that she was there

Santa, ya done good!

Christmas Eve

Cheyenne opened one present on Christmas eve - her peppermint pajamas.  I know there are a lot of families that have this as a tradition.  Maybe we will make it one in our house too?

She was very excited to put them on and go to bed.  But not before we left a note for Santa to accompany his cookies and the grass for the reindeer (literally, like 5 blades of grass).

Great little side story about the cookies - Before company arrived, Chris and I made a goal that we would do everything we could to be the best host and hostess this trip (W.W.L.D. - a story for another time) and clean up before bed each night and keep control of dishes and clutter.  So... in this mindset before bed, Chris cleaned up the whole counter that had the cookies, etc.  He had sense to leave the note, but forgot about the fun of seeing crumbs on the plate in the morning.  So in the morning when we woke up and ran over to see, we just had to conclude that Santa not only ate the cookies, but he was so thankful that he washed his own dish and put it away so that we didn't have to clean up after him.  Anyway, a fun little chuckle for all of us.

O Tannenbaum

Cheyenne picked our beautiful tree this year.  Can't wait to get him home and dress him all up.

She looks like such a BIG girl here!

At Christmas time, I fix my ears like this so I can be elf-like ;)
